Paddock Build & Motorhome

The transporter doors open at 06:00. Forty-three road cases, two cars, and a crew of thirty-eight have eight hours to build a race operation from bare asphalt. You are there for the first crate breaking.

Headset on. The race engineer's voice is calm but the data scrolling past your screen is not. Tyre temperature, sector deltas, fuel adjusted lap time. The car exits the pit lane for its final flying lap. Silence. Then the sector one split flashes green.

The garage falls quiet when the cars leave for the formation lap. Engineers stand at their stations. The pit crew rehearsed the stop one hundred and twelve times this week. They will do it in 2.1 seconds. You are standing three metres from the jack man.
